Course Description
This course takes you deeper into the world of directing, guiding you through the complete process of making a short film. From preparing scripts and working with actors to supervising production and post-production, you will experience the creative and technical challenges that shape a director’s vision. In group projects, you will rotate through real crew roles, gaining authentic insight into the collaborative effort that makes cinema possible.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Take charge of all three phases of filmmaking: pre-production, production, and post-production.
- Read and refine scripts, preparing a short film script for production.
- Select, rehearse with, and direct actors effectively.
- Collaborate with camera, art, and costume teams to align creative choices.
- Manage film schedules, budgets, and production meetings with confidence.
- Supervise the creative flow of a project while maintaining continuity.
- Work closely with editors to finalize a polished film.
- Decide on music or collaborate with a composer to enhance storytelling.
- Participate in group production projects, simulating professional on-set roles.
- Gain practical experience in editing and finishing a short film.
Prerequisite: Introduction to Filmmaking.
